Common questions

How do I invite family or a paid caregiver?

Organizers: open Family → Invite someone, choose their role, and share the 8-character code. Each code works once and expires. You can revoke open codes on the Family screen.

I have an invite code. How do I join?

Install Fernhand, create an account, choose I have an invite code, and enter it.

Is my information private?

Visit drafts are made on your phone by default, and your raw notes never leave it. Only members of your care circle can see your records, according to their role. See the privacy policy.

What is "secure cloud processing"?

An optional way to draft a visit summary. It is off until the organizer turns it on, and each person is asked for consent first, naming the provider. You can always draft on your phone instead.

Can paid caregivers see visit summaries?

Not unless the organizer allows it (Family → Permissions). Caregivers always see handoffs, the Care Snapshot, and their own tasks.

I forgot my password.

On the sign-in screen tap Forgot password? and enter your email. If an account exists, a reset link arrives within a few minutes.

How do I export my data?

In the app: Settings → Account, data & deletion → Export my data.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Account, data & deletion → Delete my account. See delete account for what is removed.

Subscriptions

Plans are billed by Apple. Manage or cancel in your iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. To restore a purchase on a new phone, open the plan screen and tap Restore purchases. A care circle's plan comes from its organizer.

Important

Fernhand organizes family-provided care information. It does not provide medical advice, is not a medical record, and is not an emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
