Privacy Policy

What ArtGauge collects, why, and the choices you have.

Effective: August 29, 2026Last updated: September 7, 2026

ArtGauge is built to need almost nothing from you. There is no account and no sign-up — you never give us your name or email — and your photos are never stored on our servers.

ArtGauge (“ArtGauge,” “we,” “us”) is operated by SEAX Enterprises, a sole proprietorship. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@seaxenterprises.com.

The short version

  • No account, no email, no name. The app signs you in anonymously with a random ID created on your device.
  • We don’t store your photos. Each photo is sent only to identify your painting and estimate its value, then discarded. The originals stay on your phone.
  • We don’t sell your data, run ads, or track you across other apps and sites — ever.
  • You can delete everything, permanently, anytime from Settings in the app.

What we collect

You give us

  • Photos you scan — the images you take or choose for an identification, plus any optional note. We do not store your photos: each one is sent only to produce that single result and is discarded right after. The originals stay in your phone’s photo library.
  • Feedback — if you use “Report a problem” in the app, we receive your message and a short technical string (your platform and OS version) so we can reproduce the issue.

Created automatically

  • An anonymous ID — on first launch the app creates a random user ID so your free-scan count, subscription, and saved results work. It is not tied to your name, email, or phone, and we don’t ask for those.
  • Your results & gallery — the AI’s text answers for scans you save (title, value range, details) and whether you added them to your gallery, so your history is there when you return.
  • Usage counts — how many free scans you’ve used this month and your subscription status, so the app works as intended.

We do NOT collect: your name, email, or phone; precise GPS location; your contacts; or advertising identifiers. We do not use analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

How we use it

  • To identify your painting from a photo and estimate its value.
  • To save your results and keep your gallery and history available to you.
  • To count free scans and manage your subscription.
  • To fix bugs, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
  • To respond to feedback you send us.

AI processing

To identify your painting, we send the photo (and any note) to our AI processing provider, Anthropic (the maker of Claude). Anthropic processes it to return the identification and value estimate and, under their commercial API terms, does not use your content to train their models. We do not keep a copy of the photo once your result is returned. AI output can be wrong or incomplete — see the disclaimer in our Terms.

Service providers we share data with

We share only what’s necessary with vendors who process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments:

ProviderPurpose
SupabaseAnonymous authentication, database for your saved results, and the secure gateway your photo passes through in transit (photos are not stored)
Anthropic (Claude)Identifying the painting and estimating value from your photo
RevenueCatManaging subscriptions and purchases
AppleApp Store billing (Apple handles your payment details; we never see full card data)

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public. We do not sell or share your personal information.

Data retention

Your photos are never stored — each is used only to produce a result and discarded immediately, so there is nothing to retain or delete. The results you save stay in your account until you delete them or delete your account. When you delete your account, your profile, saved results, gallery, and feedback are removed immediately and permanently — there is no recovery. Residual copies in routine backups are purged on our normal cycle. Transaction records that Apple or we are legally required to keep may be retained as required by law, unlinked from your anonymous ID.

Security

Photos and data travel over encrypted connections (TLS). Because the app is anonymous, there is no name or email to expose in the first place, and each user’s saved results are isolated by row-level database rules so one user can never read another’s. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect precisely so there is little to protect.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete everything — from Settings → Delete account in the app, anytime. See Account & data deletion.
  • Depending on where you live (e.g. Canada under PIPEDA, or other regional laws), you may have rights to access or delete your data. Because we hold no name or email, the app itself is the way to exercise them; email support@seaxenterprises.com if you need help.

Your privacy rights (U.S. state laws)

If you live in a U.S. state with a consumer-privacy law — including California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others as they take effect — you have the rights below. Because ArtGauge holds no name, email, or phone number, we usually can’t connect a request to a specific person beyond the anonymous ID on your device, so the quickest way to exercise most of these is right in the app.

  • Know & access — what we collect and how we use it. This policy answers it, and the app shows the results tied to your ID.
  • Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate data we hold about you.
  • Delete — erase everything, anytime, from Settings → Delete account.
  • Portability — get a copy of the results saved to your account.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, of targeted advertising, and of profiling — we do none of these, so there is nothing to opt out of.
  • No discrimination — we will never give you lesser service or pricing for exercising any right.

We do not sell or share your personal information. We do not sell it, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioural advertising (the sense those state laws give the word). We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.

Opt-out preference signals (Global Privacy Control). Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal asking businesses not to sell or share personal information. We do neither, so there is nothing for the signal to switch off.

Sensitive personal information. We do not collect it — no precise location, government ID, financial-account numbers, biometrics, or the contents of your messages. Because we collect none, the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information does not arise.

“Shine the Light” (California). We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

How to make a request, and how to appeal. Email support@seaxenterprises.com. We verify a request by your control of the account it concerns (the anonymous ID, or the email address you write to us from). An authorized agent may submit a request for you with your written permission and proof of authority. We respond within 45 days (with one 45-day extension where the law allows). If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the word “appeal”; we’ll answer the appeal within 45 days, and if it’s unsuccessful you may contact your state Attorney General.

Children

ArtGauge is not directed to children under 13 — or under 16 where state law sets that age — and we don’t knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child provided data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

International users & cross-border transfers

SEAX Enterprises operates from Canada. Your data is processed by us and by the service providers listed above in Canada and the United States, and may be processed in other countries where those providers operate. If you use ArtGauge from elsewhere, you understand your data will be transferred to and processed in these countries. Their privacy laws differ from the laws where you live, and in some circumstances courts, law-enforcement, or government authorities there may access data under their own laws. By using ArtGauge, you consent to this processing under this policy.

Changes

We’ll post any changes here and update the “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app where appropriate.
